Principles of a good web design –

Let us know about each one of them in brief –

1.       Easy navigation -
A website should be easy to navigate and it should not make the user think a lot or find what he is looking for. It is the number one rule for a good web design. If your website is simple and easy, you will have more visitors on your website. No user likes complicated websites. It should be self-explanatory and obvious.

2.       Minimal user requirements -
It is important to keep the user requirement very minimal. The lesser action the user has to do on your website, the more visitors you will get. Don’t go for long web forms or personal questions. Stick to the basics and avoid these to gain more users on your website.

3.       User’s attention –
Manage to get the user’s attention. Make your website’s content more user-friendly. We all know that pictures are more attractive than texts and marked bold texts are attractive than simple plain text. A user can easily recognize patterns, edges, and motions. Play with these.

4.       Effective writing -
The web is different from print and you need to write according to the web users. Always know that a user’s visiting a website is not there to read a book! So, skip using flowery words, long paragraphs, exaggerated texts. Go simple in writing. To the point and very precise. Also, don’t use tough words or technical terms, use easy language that is understandable by common people.

5.       Simplicity is the key -
Your prime goal for your website should be “keep it simple”. Users visit a website for a purpose and that purpose is not the complexity of designs. Go for simple and lucid patterns. Avoid unnecessary content on your website.

6.       White space -
Do not be afraid of the white space on your website. When a user visits your website, she/he divides the page into readable contents. Complex structures are hard to read, scan, analyze, and work with. It gives a dominating position to the content it deserves!
