Common SEO mistakes
In this blog, we will talk about the mistakes made in SEO
(Search Engine Optimization) and how you can avoid it.
Edustrom provides training on SEO, SMO, and Digital
Marketing.
Mistakes are very common while practicing SEO but it is
important to know them and correct them. Most digital marketers do not
realize that they are committing a mistake and that can be the reason behind
low traffic and search engine results.
We will talk about these mistakes in our article –
1. Site Speed
2. Wrong keywords
3. Incorrect metadata
4. Blogging
5. Call-to-action
button
6. Responsive design
Let us discuss these mistakes in brief –
1.
Speed of your website -
The most important thing is the speed of your website. The faster your speed
is, the more Google will rank you higher. You can use tools like Google Insights
to understand what aspects you need to focus on for a better speed.
2.
Wrong keywords -
In order to rank on Google, it is important that you use the right keywords for
every web page. Try coming up with a specific keyword because you will be
competing with all the companies from across the world. You can add an area to
your keyword. This will be called a long-tail
keyword.
3.
Incorrect metadata -
Metadata appears on Search
Engine Result Pages (SERP) when someone types in for a query. It will
include the title of the page and the meta description. Make sure that you have
different metadata for each web page representing that page in specific.
4.
Blogging -
Writing blogs for your
website is very important if you want to rank your page. But, always choose
quality over quantity. Include keywords in your blogs, keep it simple and
short. Go for at least 300 words, you cannot expect Google to rank you when you
have written only 2 sentences.
5.
Call-to-action button -
It is important to keep your visitors on your site after they have scrolled
your page. Create a call-to-action
button on your web page like BUY inside the products or Sign Up for
newsletters.
6.
Responsive design -
It is important that your page has a responsive design
which means it is compatible with mobile devices. If you have an awesome
website but it is not responsive to mobile devices then your website won’t
rank on Google.
With this, we come to the end of this blog. We hope that
these six mistakes won’t be repeated by you in the future!
